ROOKIES: Boys & Girls Pre-K

The "Rookies" Soccer program is a coed division of the YSA for Pre-K boys and girls.    Both practices and games are held on Sundays.  Teams consist of 12 player rosters and are coached by volunteer parents.  Depending on the enrollment of boys to girls, the rosters should represent a balance of the boy-girl ratio.  Uniforms are purchased on a designated sales day and players are expected to have two uniform shirts (red for home - black for away).  Soccer fundamentals and concepts are progressive as players move up into other divisions.  Field dimensions are smaller and emphasis is on sport play and fun.

Kick-Off

The "Kick-Off" is the official FIRST day of soccer and is considered an introductory day.  Kick-Off day is for parents, players, and coaches to become acquainted with each other, pass out materials, and discuss the expectations of everyone around the YSA league guidelines.  It is also dedicated for the initial team practice.  For further details download the Parent-Coach Handbook.

Practice / Games

Practices and games are held only once per week, on Sundays.  Practices will be stressed at the first 15 minutes of the team's Sunday session, so it is important that parents are on time.  Each team will practice on their side (one-half) of the field, then apply what they are learning from practice in a game with the team scheduled on the other side of the field.  Please remember, there is no keeping score as this is a NON-COMPETITIVE soccer league.  Schedules can be viewed and downloaded by clicking the link on your left.  For further details download the Parent-Coach Handbook.
