All of our
YSports Clinics concentrate on
skill development, application, and play. Basketball,
Soccer, and Tennis are very high in skill development while
applying learned skills in game play. Hockey is more

opportunity for playing games as opposed
to more skill instructional lessons. Sessions are
assigned by age, rather than level.

Tennis Clinics
5-8 years
Experienced instructors will teach basic fundamentals of tennis.
Lessons will include the utilization of modified equipment
and creative methods of individual training for an
optimum-learning environment, meeting each child’s skill
level needs. Clinics are held in the Hubbard Gymnasium
throughout the year, with the exception of our Spring 2 session
which classes are held on outdoor
courts.
During Spring II session,
children will have an opportunity to learn tennis outdoors. Clinics are
separated into 3 age groups; 5-6 years, 6-7 years, and
8-9 years. We have included 6 year olds in two clinics
because of two reasons; high demand in that age group
and developmental level. Children will learn skill
development and then apply those skills by participating
in game play. On bad weather days, make-up classes will
be scheduled on Wednesdays and Fridays in the Hubbard
Gymnasium at the Summit YMCA.
