Everyone
belongs at the Y, regardless of their financial
circumstances — no one is turned away. For those families
and individuals unable to afford the Y’s fees, we offer a
Financial Assistance Program to help cover the cost of
belonging to the Y. The application process is confidential
and forms are available at Member Services of each branch of
the Summit Area YMCA.
Who is eligible to receive
Financial Assistance?
Individuals and families living in the Summit Area YMCA’s
service area are eligible to apply for assistance. The
service area includes: Berkeley Heights, Gillette,
Millburn/Short Hills, New Providence, Springfield, Stirling,
and Summit.
How is the financial assistance
amount determined?
We have a sliding fee scale, based on total household income
and number of dependents.
Is assistance available at all
three branches?
Financial Assistance is available at every branch of the
Summit Area YMCA. It is not, however, transferable from
branch to branch. Please apply at the branch you intend to
use.
How do I apply?
1.
Download a confidential
application form (English)

employer verifying current employment.
How long will financial
assistance continue?

financial assistance is reassessed every six months
for membership and every 12 months for program fees.
How can I use Financial
Assistance funds?
You can use
Financial Assistance for membership and/or program fees.
Many families use our Financial Assistance Program to help
cover the cost of After School Child Care and Summer Day
Camp. You can also use it for an individual or family
membership or for any program requiring an additional fee
(primarily sports and aquatics). |
